As you noticed, I prefer to use word 'newcomer' instead of 'migrant', not only because of slightly negative tone it may have for some readers, but also due to the fact that once you settle, you shouldn't really feel like migrant anymore. And this is what I want you to achieve - feel at ease and safe in your new country. During the years of working with at least 200 newcomers every year, I can confirm that the two most important things to carry with you at all times are: positive outlook and 'can do' attitude. Easier said than done, but our thinking is the only thing we have a power over. I can guarantee that once you really try it for the first time, it's going to be extremely easy and possibly the most satisfying thing you ever learned. All the best to all readers!

В 1975 году после защиты диплома инженера-механика на "отлично" был направлен на работу в город Набережные Челны на Камский автомобильный завод большегрузных автомобилей (КАМАЗ), в качестве инженера-испытателя новых моделей автомобилей. (В то время КАМАЗ - это 157 000 рабочих, 20 000 инженеров на площади в 100 кв. км.) На КАМАЗе проработал 15 лет. Последние годы работал в качестве помощника директора научно-технического центра (НТЦ) КАМАЗа Г.А. Храмцова. В соавторстве с к.т.н. Л.К. Климовым разработал концепцию процесса модульного развития автомобильных транспортных систем "КАМАЗ". Имеются авторские свидетельства и благодарности от правительства за разработку и внедрение оригинальных методов испытаний и доводки автомобилей. Непосредственно перед уходом с КАМАЗа, занимаясь вопросами его интенсивного развития, прошел специальный курс подготовки по мыследеятельности у Г.П. Щедровицкого. Уволившись с КАМАЗа, работал экспертом-консультантом в одном из филиалов Совместного Советско-Датского предприятия "Менеджер Сервис". Разработал новую философию "Единства" и процедурные механизмы её беспроблемного практического применения при постановке новых систем организации труда. После возвращения на Украину в город Луцк занялся непосредственно внедрением нового мышления в жизнь. Работал заведующим лабораторией социально-экономических технологий (СЭТ) при Луцком государственном техническом университете (ЛГТУ). Читал студентам свой оригинальный курс "Методология формирования нового мышления". Автор идеи "Переориентация общественного сознания с борьбы на единство", опубликованной в разделе "Интеллектуальная собственность" журнала "Академические тетради" (Москва, № 2 за 1996 год, ISBN 5-7270-0012-2, стр. 122). Автор и совладелец НОУ-ХАУ от 11.02.97г. "Пакет универсального интеллектуального обеспечения Результат", предназначенного для беспроблемной оперативной постановки на фирмах и государственных учреждениях новой системы организации труда максимальных возможностей. Автор и совладелец НОУ-ХАУ от 11.02.97г. "Интеллектуальная технология интенсивного развития организаторских способностей руководителей", предназначенной для ускоренного развития мыслительных способностей современных руководителей до заданного уровня. Автор курса лекций: "Руководство по интенсивному развитию организаторских способностей руководителя" (256 ст.), защищённого авторским свидетельством ПА № 4739, выданного Государственным департаментом интеллектуальной собственности Министерства образования и науки Украины 19.09.2001г. As most Soviet Jews in those days, I grew up afraid to speak my last name for fear of being recognized a Jew, the most despised minority in the country. Kindergartens and schools didn’t discourage anti-Semitic remarks from both students and teachers and so Jewish children had to fend for themselves. The answer was to remain as invisible as one could possibly master. Invisibility was the norm among the adults as well. My parents, their parents, their friends, uncles and cousins were nearly all engineers -- a profession that was dull, harmless and, most importantly for the Soviet government, safe enough to entrust to Jews. So for the lack of better opportunities, I also began to study engineering. When the changes of perestroika and glastnost swept through the Soviet Union and Jewish emigration rules were relaxed, I convinced my family to leave. After much discussion we left Moscow on October 19, 1989 – stripped of our Soviet citizenship, with six suitcases, and $180 to our names. Our departure proceeded the fall of the Berlin Wall only by three weeks. Since my arrival I completed my education in the field that was as far from engineering as I could get. I’ve taken advantage of my freedom and I have worked and lived all over the world. And I finally took off my “invisibility” cloak and I decided to write about my experiences. In addition to the stories you see here, I was published as a contributor to Illuminations (www.Illuminationsbook.com) alongside such contributors as Julia Cameron, Marianne Williamson, Desmond Tutu, and others.
