BARRY S. WILLDORF is a graduate of Columbia Law School and a member in good standing of both the NY (retired) and California bars. He has an AV rating from Martindale and Hubbell and has been lead attorney in well over one hundred trials of all kinds, civil, criminal and military. He began his legal career as a criminal investigator for the N.Y. Legal Aid Society. He has been a Judge Pro Tem and an arbitrator on the A.A.A., Kaiser, FINRA and NYSE panels. His legal writings include authorship of jury instructions dealing with fraud and misrepresentation for Matthew Bender’s California Forms of Jury Instructions, editing Matthew Bender’s Trial Master series, How to Pass the LSAT’s, Monarch Press, 1969 and several articles dealing with the Second Amendment. In 2005, the San Francisco AIDS Legal Referral Panel named him “Attorney Of The Year”. Barry was born in New York City and grew up in Malden and Gloucester, MA, where he was one of the earliest surfers on the North Shore. He graduated from Colby College in 1966 with a B.A. in History and earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1969. He also studied history at the University of Manchester in England in the mid-sixties. Barry was the founder of the Southern California Military Law Project representing servicemen in all service branches during the Vietnam War. He has lived in San Francisco since 1970 and homesteaded in Mendocino County between 1977 and 1993. He is married, has three children and three grandchildren. Barry brings all of these life and career experiences to his novels.

Have you noticed that most author biographies are written in the third person but are obviously composed by the authors themselves ? Isn't this a bit odd ? But that's marketing these days. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: "Everything in America is hype." The name INFOCHASE suits the gratification I have always received from seeking out new information. I relish looking into new and interesting facts and out-of-the-box outlooks on things. I like to "bust" commonly held beliefs that are untrue. Thus, another favorite quote: "Don't be limited by your eyesight." This is the theme I hope to translate into interesting reading. Being practical and frugal-minded, I staunchly endorse the eBook medium. eBooks are readable by anyone with a personal computer and on the Barnes and Noble NOOK, Amazon's Kindle, Android Tablets, Smart Phones, etc). For readers, eBooks make reading convenient and cheap -- or it should. I feel eBooks should cost much less than print copies. After all; eBooks cut out the costs of paper, printing, distribution, trip to the store, publisher's profit and the price-elevating allowance for overstocking and unsold copies. The eBook medium permits more use of color photos at no additional cost. And eBooks are "Green". While these savings should be passed on to purchasers, they often are not. It seems to me that some eBook pricing is almost as high as print prices. This is not the case for my work. I aim at prices from FREE to $3.99. Please visit http://publications.infochase.org.

The law school years were tough, but I was learning so much and really enjoyed every minute of it. I actually made better grades in law school than I did in engineering school. I knew I had found my second niche (software was my first). Besides attending a top 20 law school with one of the best patent law programs in the nation, I have had the good fortune of working with some great colleagues at my former firm, Miles & Stockbridge. The partners there trained me in the day-to-day practice of patent law and always encouraged me to learn more, take on tough cases and work diligently to meet client needs. I owe GW Law School and my mentors at Miles & Stockbridge so much. I opened my own practice, Cygnet IP Law, PA, in my hometown of Lakeland, FL in 2011. A need to be closer to family called us back to Florida from the DC area. Like many my age, I grew up watching Perry Mason on television. He was a lawyer who always won the case at the very end of the show with a “surprise” witness. From that show’s inspiration, we’d often have a trial in my house after dinners. Dad was always the judge and my sister was usually my witness. As far back as I can remember I wanted to be an attorney and fight for people. Throughout my school years, I took on every argument and every debate. I read every book about great lawyers and famous trials I could find. I began my practice of law in 1980 and have rejoiced every day since, because every day I get to help somebody. I passed the Bar exam and went into practice for myself, and I took on cases in many areas of law, including criminal, family law, bankruptcy, small business representation, real estate settlements, and more. After about five years, I slowly started focusing my practice in the area of personal injury law because with this focus I felt the most accomplishment for my clients. Since the late-80’s, I have focused on personal injury work. All I do is represent people who have been injured, and the families of those who have lost a loved one. I’ve seen the devastation that an injury can bring to people, physically, emotionally, and financially. I’ve also seen what insurance companies do, and I detest that they act as if people are plastic or metal. They think that throwing a little bit of money should make things okay. Money cannot erase an injury or bring back a lost loved one. I thrive on making things as right as they can be (and as expensive as they can be for the insurance companies). Except for my law school years, I have lived in the Washington, D.C. area my entire life. I am married and have four daughters.
