| Author bio: WALTER H. JACKSON, Msc.D., author of “ Sporting the Right Attitude: Lessons Learned in a Troubled Family” (for young adults), is a versatile speaker who has been a guest on numerous radio talk shows around the country. Walter grew up in a low-income family witnessing domestic violence between his parents. Jackson was then attracting media attention as a rare Four-Sport athlete who played football, basketball, baseball, track and field. But a fateful car accident stole his promising athletic career, taking away scholarship offers from top colleges around the country. Even worse, doctors predicted he wouldn’t survive his coma and multiple internal injuries. Walter proved them wrong. But as he struggled to learn to walk again, he grieved his athletic career was over. Just as Walter was making a full physical recovery, he was devastated again. His father was murdered by a stranger. These incidents left Walter living an angry life, but he knew this attitude was holding him back so he started applying what he learned in sports to his life. “When you get knocked down in life,” says Walter, “Pick yourself up, get back into the game of life...and Sport the Right Attitude!” As a keynote speaker and trainer, Walter teaches this principles. He is known for his exciting delivery and practical step-by-step action plan. The author masterfully uses humor, personal experiences and story telling to help individuals achieve personal and professional development. In his team-building workshops, Walter energizes participants from passive listeners to engaged learners and propels the most seasoned veterans to discover new ways to capitalize on their strengths, and how to value differences in others. Walter is co-owner of Self Awareness Trainings, a behavioral consultant company. He often teams with his wife, Janet Alston Jackson (author of “A Cry for Light: A Journey into Love”) facilitating their personal development workshops to thousands since 1993, including law enforcement, managers, parents, teachers, mental and health care professionals, college students, and entertainment industry professionals.. Walter began his career as a Probation Officer for The Los Angeles County Probation Dept. A former commercial Realtor, in 1993 Walter co-founded and was CEO of Believe In Yourself Inc, a non-profit esteem and tutoring program for youths and their parents. He holds a degree in social work from the California State University, at Sacramento, and a doctorate in metaphysics. Locust Eater's Sundial | by Benjamin Comings Aug. 31, 2010 | $6.99 | 13684 words | Sample 25% |
| Author bio: Imagine going to school for geology, expanding that to geochemistry, getting involved in computers, finding yourself at the leading edge of international banking systems, discerning a call to ministry, becoming a project manager, and then losing everything except your family and friends in the financial disaster of 2008-9-10. How would that inform your faith? Sometimes life can feel like a collection of broken parts, but somehow, I think, I feel, that God will help us find new possibilities that, with love and a lot of work, can change what we have from what feels like a collection of broken parts to something that is useful, beautiful, remarkable, and worth living. |

| Author bio: As a hippie in the late 1960s, and a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a BFA in Printmaking, he wears the title of Jesus Freak proudly. David has been an artist and designer since 1967 (as far as he can recall that far in the distant past). He actually started his design career working for an occult publisher in St. Paul. He spent several wasted years as an ego-maniacal heathen fine artist until he found his true calling as a creative called by God to produce beauty for the kingdom. That has not been a straight or easy path. Through the years he has tried many media, produced thousands of pieces (most that were pure trash) and taught hundreds of students practical graphic design & digital publishing in 2-year colleges. In recent years he has pulled out of the public arena entirely. Though not a hermit, he is certainly a recluse, living in a small 2-story, brick home that is over a hundred twenty five years old on a tree-lined street in Mankato, Minnesota. Mainly he writes now, of his experiences and beliefs. Increasingly, he writes fiction. |

Her lips were turning blue, her eyes rolled back and her entire body was shaking. Stunned, full of fright and devastation they rushed to call emergency (911) and had rushed Stacey to the nearest hospital for medical attention. She was diagnosed with (encephalitis) a virus that had traveled to her brain causing her to go into a coma for four days. However, the doctors did not give up hope, but their prognosis was not positive either. They thought that when she did come out of the coma that she was probably going to have some degree of brain damage and there was a very good chance that she was going to be paraplegic. Her parents did not give up. They sat by her bedside with hope in their heart and prayed knowing in their hearts that everything happens for a reason and that there was reason for her being on this earth. On the fourth day, her father was praying by her bedside, as she looked up he was stunned to find her eyes wide open and the first thing out of her mouth was “Can I have McDonalds fries?” The doctors were flabbergasted. Stacey had no brain damage, She was not paraplegic either, but when the virus (encephalitis) had traveled through her brain, it had caused scar tissue damage, which left her with epilepsy. A disorder, which she lives with every day of her life. Stacey did not give up. She left Matawan, New Jersey in 1992 to attend Richard Stockton College in Pomona, New Jersey. She studied business, marketing, and advertising, as a student at the College. However, she could not escape the allure of writing and quickly began studying to become a writer. She began by reading every chance she had. From health & fitness, self-improvement, alternative medicine to inspirational books, Stacey's love motivation to helping others was uncontrollable. Stacey wrote her first article for the Epilepsy Foundation of America and received hundreds of letters in response to the article. Once she began writing, she never stopped. Stacey Chillemi wrote her first book after she graduated college. She decided to help others through her writing; she studied people, and listened to their stories. "I became a student of life", she recalls. A year later, Stacey married a doctor and planted her roots in New Jersey. Stacey then began writing books and opened up her own freelance writing business. Her first piece was published in Epilepsy Foundation Magazine in 1994. Her first book, Epilepsy You're Not Alone, received wide acclaim and earned Stacey several prestigious awards. Since that time, Stacey has penned over a dozen books and ebooks. Stacey Chillemi a mother of three, a wife and writer. Her journey and reason for being is defined each day by the happiness in her children's eyes and the people with epilepsy she has helped through her writing. "Through this experience with epilepsy I have learned to accept my limitations and to change the way I look at things. Through my writing I am able to help others and just knowing I've helped is enough of a reward," said Chillemi.- Jenna Martin/EpilepsyUSA Web sites: http://www.authorsden.com/staceydchillemi http://www.stores.lulu.com/staceychil http://freelanceinternational.viviti.com |

FORESIGHT THE KEY TO ALL YOUR SUCCESS BY KAY BYRD ORIGINAL! | by Kay Byrd Jul. 30, 2010 | $5.00 | 29009 words | Sample 10% |
| Author bio: BLOGGER QUEEN LESLIE SIEGEL NOVELIST TO RELEASE NEW BOOK "THE KURSE OF MISS KANE" OCTOBER 2010! Email [Edit] | Written by kaybyrdforever on Sep-1-10 10:45pm Blogger Queen Leslie Siegel novelist to release new book "The Kurse of Miss Kane" another self-biography she has started writing about her past which is riddled with many "pointers" saying the Kurse of Kane (who killed Abel in the Bible) is upon her family and she as the oldest daughter is the bearer of the burden of this curse. Of course, curses befall many families and it may have ignited when some sort of debauchery whether that be black market, religious or even political, was done by a family member before the birth of the oldest daughter. The dark true story she tells will be stark and disturbing all the way to the end, but riveting in it's wording, truth and almost have a sheer nakedness to it. Here is a first paragraph in first draft (so forgive it's pandry): "I'm not throughly sure when the Kurse of Miss Kane started it's song, but what I can recall is that I was about to be born out of the four children, the only child to be born with mother not having any sedation whatsoever. They could not put her because her water had broken in the middle of the night and she was rushed by taxi, actually someone said by a big black limo, the the nearby hospital, but by the time they rolled up to the hospital, my head was showing. It was iike a door of opportunity for me to pass throogh quickly, the way I was supposed to0, but it was somehow delayed, due to The Kurse of Kane that I felt now and then, even as a newborn. After a very fast shocking birth by mother, the very next day she contracted a horrid poisonous Staph infection that came out of the blue, most probably from the quickly done birth of me of her oldest daughter. I was immediately separated from her and taken by father, who whisked me away quickly, seeming to be bent on not having me sick too. And he didn't want to be ill either, he was that sort of guy. A bit of a Germaphobic. Another problem, the oldest daughter's fingers inherited from her mother's side (grandma and Uncle had it, but in different forms, mostly knuckles on fingers were doubled up) were so well placed. But for me they were NOT doubled up, but a "single" new type of knuckle on each hand, with 8 missing on the fingers for sure, and with me, it was obvious, apparent, and not easily hidable, as some other defect, mental or otherwise. The book is interesting and the reader falls right in to it. Look for it in Lulu.com where Miss Siegel has 4 other selling books of many types and topics. Leslie Siegel Novelist and Blogger has the experience of storytelling and a generl know-how and "been around that before attitude" to write what people want, and this novel is not for the faint of heart. It is true and drills you with emotion and truthful horror and trauma of an upbringing that would seem serene and normal on the surface of opulence. You must give it a chance. As it comes out, you will be able to sample it on SMASHWORDS.com and other Kindles and Readers! |
