Manet's Picnic | by Severin Rossetti Jan. 23, 2011 | Free! | 5778 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Severin Rossetti was a teacher of fine art, but now works in a Liverpool museum/gallery, less money but a lot less stress. At the same time that he turned from teaching fine art, he also turned from its practice -have you seen the crap that passes for fine art these days?!?- to concentrate on writing. After many rejection slips he finally had some encouragement. 'Interesting,' said one editor, 'but it lacks passion. Spice it up a bit.' Which he did, only to be told 'wow!'... 'well!'... 'spiced up, yes, but we can't possibly publish this!' Fortunately, others could, with the result that his erotic stories have been published in the UK and the USA in various magazines and anthologies. Novels and short story collections have also been published in the US by Renaissance Ebooks.com. If the erotic genre is not your thing, however, please note that also available on Smashwords are more 'serious' works, some for sale but many for free. Strange, though, that the erotic genre is proving the most popular, and especially the free ones. So... a cry from the heart... feel free to try the free ones but PLEASE, also, splash out a dollar or two if you can afford it! And if you want to know any more, please contact the author at severinrossetti@aol.com |

| Author bio: I must in all honesty, update this entry, for I stumbled onto the magic key to post a story on Smashwords. It was operator error not one of the poltergeist that I’m sure came preloaded in my computer that prevents me from getting what I want from it. For those of you who didn’t read this bio before—which I’m sure includes the rest of the world’s population—I repeat: I am an old man who loves to write. I started decades ago—the exact number is irrelevant—on a cast iron framed manual typewriter that would now serve little purpose beyond a boat anchor. I love composing fiction on the computer, mainly because of the spell check feature. Why someone who can’t spell worth a damn wants to write, I’ll never be able to explain. I take solace in the knowledge that some well-known writers throughout history were so afflicted. However, I must confess, that is about as far as I can go into this—to me—frightening world of cyberspace. I don’t have accounts on face book (wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole. Almost nightly the news is filled with stories of people murdered by people they have contacted there.) I feel the same way about Myspace, a blog or personal web site. I don’t tweet or twit or what ever that is. That really seems silly--just call them and talk! So I’ll be contented to write and enjoy retirement until the final heartbeat or wayward city buss runs me over. |

But not in that order. I started writing as hobby just after leaving university in 1998, and in 2005 my first short story was published by the subscription website Ruthie’s Club. Phaze published my first novel, Charlotte’s Secret, in 2008. Eternally & Evermore is my forth Phaze novel. Originally from Wolverhampton in The Black County, I now live in the Northamptonshire countryside just a stone’s throw from where Princess Diana is buried and the Gunpowder Plot was plotted. It’s far cry from my inner-city roots, but that’s what an education does for you. I studied at the University of Aberystwyth and the University of Swansea. When I'm not writing, blogging, counting other people’s money or being a loving husband and father, I enjoy the peace and quiet of my garden, where he grows all types of quite magnificent fruit and vegetables. |

A New-Age Sex Toy For Vanya | by Joe Brewster Oct. 16, 2011 | Free! | 3924 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Ever since Moby Dick became The Great American Novel writers have dreamed of putting together their own version of epic greatness: I had the same ambition and my quest failed as badly as Ahab's quest for the great white whale. The Sex Monster gobbled it up. I prepared for my quest by devouring every book I could find on how to write novels. These books were written by successful novelists. Several of the authors revealed a curious fact: they had sharpened their writing skills churning out sex novels-- so-called porn--before they ever placed a manuscript with a 'legit' publisher. This struck me as odd but I paid it no mind. I took it merely as trivia. I plowed ahead with my plan to apply all my attention to my Great American Novel; any 'practice novels', porn or otherwise, seemed like a waste of resources and precious writer 'mojo'. I gathered all my notes and character outlines and got down to business. I put fresh lines on paper but I soon lost the thread and the story slipped away. So I took it apart and began sorting it out and tightening it up. But after my third or fourth re-write I had 100 stale pages that sagged under the weight of empty prose before the whole thing gave way and came apart at the seams. I needed to practice writing stories that had 'a beginning', 'a middle', and 'an end', to get a feel for how a story should develop. The way I went at it I was going nowhere not-so-fast. That's when my mind drifted to thoughts of smut: I decided to write my own 'porn' novel. When I first read about the authors 'honing their chops' writing porn I just thought it was odd. But it actually made sense. Sex had built-in conflict-- the basis for every good story-- and, where sex is concerned, who doesn't let their emotions overrule common sense? That is the basis for all irony (I loved irony) so I gave it a try. The great thing about that was I no longer felt any pressure to write perfect prose. It was strictly practice and so words flowed and great characters popped up out of nowhere. I had nothing to lose but my novel-writing virginity. I went for it. My novel experiment was set in a telemarketing office and like most first novels it was based on true events. So I wrote what I knew. According to the experts that is practically Novel Writing 101. I worked answering phones for an inbound telemarketing company. Afternoons were slow. Hours passed with no calls coming in. Reps were free to use the down-time as we pleased. Most reps sat and gossiped. I read books. To my way of thinking I got paid to read books. I learned things. I had my own on-the-job scholarship. That's actually where I read most of my how-to-write-a-novel books. One night my gossiping coworkers played a 'Name Game' where they took turns naming a person and the rest of them had to say if they found the nominee sex-worthy. I kept my nose in my book but I couldn't help overhearing. They started off with movie stars and celebrities and famous politicians and such. No one agreed on anything. One person's fantasy was another person's nightmare. Then talk turned to our absent coworkers and whether or not they were bedroom material. Again, no one agreed -- until Mildred's name came up. Mildred was our section leader. She sat at the head of the room and, in contrast to the rest of us, always seemed busy doing some work-related chore. She was taking a rare smoking break when the crew started talking about her. Mildred had the most perfect set of legs I have ever seen on a living person. They were dazzling. They were sexy. They were mind-boggling actually. I would look at them and try to figure out what it was that made them so perfect. I couldn't. A thousand other women must have had legs that were almost identical to hers-- but not quite. That slight difference made all the difference in the world. Mildred's legs blew my mind. There were times when I'd thank God for the simple pleasure of having Mildred's legs to look at on long boring nights. The first time I saw Mildred I walked up to her from behind; checking out her short skirt and her legs and heels in the process. Her auburn hair swung about her shoulders as she turned to face me. I'd have guessed her age to be anywhere from 18 to 29--- until she faced me. She was every bit of 60. I nearly gasped with surprise. Mildred's age startled me but it did nothing to dampen my admiration--and lust--for her legs. They were still absolutely flawless; smooth and shapely; without a trace of 'spider' veins that woman much younger than her are often prone to. She was a genetic marvel. I know I'm going on and on about her legs so I'll stop--but one last thing: her whole body looked hot; at least from what I could see of it with her clothes on. She stood 5' 6" barefoot. Weighed 105lbs. Measured about 34-24-34. Slim and well proportioned. So imagine my astonishment when her name was offered up for sexual review and the response was immediate, unanimous, and utterly negative. The gossip crew freaked-out at the thought of any sexual contact with Mildred. They wouldn't touch that lady if their life depended on it. Their attitude ticked me off! I slammed my book down and was all set to tear into them. I was just about to shout that they were all crazy--- out of their freaking minds--- and announce that I'd go down on that woman in a heartbeat if I had the chance--when Mildred walked in. Luckily, I saw her just before I let loose and held my tongue. There was an awkward silence but it passed. Mildred never heard anything. As far as my aborted outburst was concerned: the crew all thought I was angry because they were making so much noise while I was trying to read. No one had any idea I was about to defend Mildred's sex appeal. I had never told anyone how I felt about her. I had taken it for granted that everyone felt the same way I did about Mildred and her legs. After that I kept my feelings a secret. My first novel was an idealized fantasy of what might have happened if I told everybody how I felt and Mildred walked in and heard me. She could have wrapped me around her little finger and had me 'servicing' her in our spare time. That would give new meaning to the phrase 'Down-Time'. That temp assignment provided plenty of material for stories dealing with all manner of sex. That's why I say the Sex Monster devoured my Great White Whale. One sex story led to another while my Epic Novel simmered on the back burner and I never really got back to it. An audience existed for this type of 'Office FemDom' before I even knew what to call it. Readers are the ones that 'TAGGED' it for me. Hundreds of readers paid good money for it online right from the start but things really exploded with Amazon Kindle. If I had never read those particular How-To books that mentioned porn novels I would probably never have tried it. If I hadn't worked at that particular temp assignment I would probably not written any sort of FemDom. That particular office was female-dominated. Women were the bosses and overwhelming outnumbered men. And because the atmosphere was so relaxed sex topics were bandied about like we were at a bar or something. Usually from a woman's point of view reducing men to sex objects and holding them up for ridicule. That's why my stories came out with a FemDom theme. The way it played out I simply had to imagine things if normal sexual inhibitions disappeared and write out what would happen if the women were free to live their fantasies and men had to give them their way. The rest is history... |

If asked whether these ideas have provided me with a secure foundation for emotional stability, happiness and flowering creativity, I would reply, “Well, so far so good.†I also write humorous erotica under the pseudonym Aussiescribbler. Cotcote Girls Exposed | by Cindy May Feb. 03, 2012 | Free! | 51007 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Hi, All the advice is that I'm supposed to write a profile, but I find it a lot easier to write about the characters in my novels than about me. If I write it one way it sounds so boring that I wouldn't read it, so why inflict it on you. If I do it the other way, it sounds as if I think there are only two good authors in history, me and Will Shakespeare, and that is worse. There are at least three good authors ! When I have read bios from other authors, I'm not too concerned with where they went to school, what their favorite color is or whether they are 4 feet tall or 8 feet tall. I want to know "what makes them tick" and "What is it that they are trying to say?" The average bio just does not tell me, and I'm not sure if I know how to say it, so I'd prefer to let my characters talk for me. Maybe the best bet is to tell you what and why I write. Well, first off, I enjoy doing it, so even if you hate my books, there is one person that likes 'em - me! I have read a cross section of literature over the years. In most genres there is plenty of variety, and that makes a book or a film good, as you don't know what will happen. I recall reading one novel and there was a subplot with a cute Chinese gal. I wondered if she was going to make it to the end of the story or not. At various times, it looked bad for her, and in the end I was more concerned about her than the main plot. With most "Romance", the plot is 'girl meets boy; girl loses boy, girl regains boy'. If there is a good girl/bad girl battle, you know on page ONE which is which, so you know what will happen on p336. All that the other 334 pages do is to fill in the precise details. With erotica, the sex can be much steamier, and the HEA (Happy Ever After) is not necessary, but the girls are often just a system to transport the sexy bits from one bed to the next bed. That is degrading to women, and it stinks! I even saw a review where the reviewer PRAISED the lack of character development or plot. If the review was fair, then I do not think I would care much for that book. People are not self-propelled sex organs seeking another organ. They have all sorts of hopes, fears, desires, hang-ups, and that is what makes us act as we do. I wanted real people to inhabit my novels. I wanted Mary Beth and Kitty, Lady Annabelle and Mavis, Tanya, Svetlana, Abby, Tracy and Phoebe to be people you can relate to, and even think, “Yeah, I knew someone like that.†I guess another influence that impelled me to write is that there are things I feel strongly about. In the US, one phrase that gets me real mad is “trailer trashâ€. Someone may come from a poor background and live in grim surroundings, but that does not automatically make them trash to be despised. There are plenty of nasty people to be found in such circumstances, but you can find nasty people in the most luxurious penthouse as well. Has anyone written about a Penthouse Pig?In “Gold Medal Mommaâ€, there is a Trailer park gal. Does she deserve to be called trash? In the UK there are similar phrases. In “The Lady and the Slut†the yawning gap between a gal who is the daughter of the Manor House and a gal whose mum was the village slut is central to the story. “Three Brides and One Guy†opens just after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and recalls the horrific ethnic cleansing in Chechnya where Russian families fled or died. Those that fled back to Russia faced discrimination. "Three Brides" explored a whole host of issues. In "The Slutlets Get Mad", the Conroy twins, Tracy and Phoebe take center stage in a sexy action packed tale set in the Cotswolds and Moscow with an explosive finale. There's plenty of sex, plenty of adventure and a chance to get to know Abby and her two daughters better. 'Even When You Lie' and its Sequel. 'Cotcote Babes' enter the world of office politics, office sex and the notorious Christmas Party. An interracial affair kicks off between an Asian girl and an English guy, but soon they must run for their lives from an Honour Killing. Add a gold digger who sets out to nail the boss and a gal whose mom dumped her like a carton from a fast food meal when she was five and the there is a heady mix of sex, love, lust, betrayal and drama. 'Once Upon an Office' depicts the self-contaied world of office politics and office sex. By highlighting these issues in a novel, I can say "Hey, what about this?" To take the easiest one, we all know that phrase "trailer trash", but people are NOT trash because of where they live. PERIOD. I would apply the trash label to the person who thinks of another human being in those terms, as it is nasty and unfair. OK, I guess I'd better calm down! If you decide to read one of my novels, I hope that YOU will ask yourself a few questions at the end of it. The characters are imaginary, but the problems they face are real, and real people face them every single day. Often the emotional baggage that the characters carry, or the way other people react to them, determines what will happen. I do kind of like a story where someone from the wrong side of the tracks makes good in the end, and I don’t like a story where the bad guy or bad girl are top of the compost heap on the last page. If you want to find out about my novels type in Cindy May in a search engine or on Smashwords, Amazon etc, and you should find a link I do have a website on Google with a write up on my books and a few personal thoughts etc. https://sites.google.com/site/cindymaywriter/ I think I’ve said enough. BDSM: Trial And Error | by Ernest Winchester Aug. 20, 2010 | Free! | 5053 words | Sample 50% |

Of his biography, Dr. Mabeuse says: “Everyone connects to the world in some way, and I seem to connect through sex. I’m drawn to the extreme and the extraordinary in all things, and I like to explore the farther edges of passion and desire in what I write. What interests me now is not so much the things people do, but how they feel about what they do—male and female dynamics, how we connect to ourselves and each other and to the world at large. I tend to be intense and my writing shows that, but I really value my sense of humor above all, and I expect it to sustain me should the fires of sexual passion ever burn out.†|

Bikini's Are Dangerous Book 5 | by K'Anne Meinel Aug. 15, 2011 | Free! | 7295 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: K’Anne (and yes this is her name and not a contrived name) writes books she would like to READ. She writes stories (as in short) that fans have asked for and for the exercise of trying something she may not be comfortable in writing. It expands her horizons to write outside her comfort zone. She likes creating whole characters as well as ‘quickie’ stories where she never names the participants and the reader places themselves in the story. As her short story readers read and realize the depth of the longer stories and then get introduced to her books she hopes they come to love the characters she has developed. She has found writing to be a schizophrenic experience, these characters live inside of her mind and to exorcise them from her brain she put them down on paper (not literally). That way, they are preserved for all time. She is ALL of her characters and yet, NONE of them. The feedback she has gotten from her readers is amazing, the vested interest in the stories and books, she doesn’t think anyone can NOT love hearing how a story made them laugh, cry, and fall in love, how they felt a similarity in their own lives, how they relate. It really makes the reader a part of the story they are reading. She wrote her first complete ‘book’ in 2003 and finished it within a matter of 2 weeks, this was SHIPS. She played with it on and off for the next 8 years before publishing it here on Smashwords and now it is about to be published in paperback by a publisher. It is exciting, it is terrifying, letting your baby get out there for the public to criticize, love, and laugh over. A good, well written book is priceless and reading some of her books and stories is like coming back to a good friend over and over again. Even she, who has written them, sometimes picks them up after a period of time and reads them like a well-worn paperback, enjoying her familiar and not forgotten friends. She began to write ‘shorts’ in 2011 to exercise her mind. She had a lot of ‘starts’ and not a whole lot of finishes to books and realized that not every idea, every concept, needed a complete book. Many of these shorts were suggested by a word or phrase or even a fan. The story “Heel or Heal†was totally suggested by a fan and way outside her comfort zone of romances and relationships. The odd thing about it was that the names she used, unbeknownst to her were exactly the same as people in this fan’s life and the fan was thrilled and amazed to find this odd coincidence had occurred. K’Anne’s life is a series of odd coincidences, she doesn’t question it anymore. Many times she has had dreams that have come true; de ja vu is a common occurrence. On the cover of SHIPS the Smashwords version is a Yin Yang pendant she wore for years. She really does believe that for everything good there is an equal amount of bad in your life. Believe her; she has had her share of bad so it’s time for some good! Eventually it all comes out in her books, good and bad! She wrote for businesses for a lot of years, even having her work published in an international magazine. Her work encompassed producing and publishing catalogs for her own businesses and for a short time being a publicist for other companies. She has always had a ‘feel’ for a well written story or book. She enjoys Bertrice Small, Danielle Steel, and Johanna Lindsey for their romance books. Nora Roberts too writes good romance but even better the drama and style indicates a fine mind. She loves good old fashioned westerns in the form of Louis L’Amour or Terry Johnston with good old fashioned values and plenty of aw shucks ma’am type of mentality. She enjoys reading history and biography books because she firmly believes we can learn from these. Besides, they help her fertile imagination to write her own stories and books. She has always enjoyed romance books and realized in her 30’s that romance between two women can be just as fulfilling as between a man and a woman. Jean Auel, J.K. Rowling, James Herriot, Mary O’Hara, and LaVyrle Spencer are among some of her favorites, she collects all of their published works as she finds them and has a quite a collection of books and movies as she has been collecting them all her life. For years she has gone to bed at night dreaming a story or a book. The first ‘book’ she wrote (SHIPS) came to her so hard that she couldn’t sleep at night and the only way to get some sleep was to put it down on virtual paper and write it or exorcise it out of her head. This isn’t a bad thing but finishing it was the greatest sense of accomplishment she cannot even describe. These stories and dreams though help create characters and plots that become stories and books. She enjoys pets and thinks of them as active characters in her books, from dogs, cats, to horses and more unique animals, she knows a lot about animals. In some capacity she has been in the pet industry for 30 years or more, from showing and training to selling and exhibiting. Some people will notice the lack of creativity in the names as she has certain names picked out for several books, stories, and novels that are the same. It is her sense of humor running amok and she enjoys tongue in cheek humor and double entendre. Befriend her or ‘like’ her on Facebook or Twitter and keep up with her books, stories, and career. There is sure to be something to enjoy, tell your friends, heck, tell 100 of your closest friends! Lol. Feel free to email comments, suggestions, or advice. K’Anne was born and raised in Wisconsin and uses it and several cities around the state as a base for several of her books and novels as well as a few shorts. She has lived in in Southern California and Central California and been all over this country from one end to the other. She prefers to think of herself as a gypsy who hasn’t settled too long in one place. Her life (or lives) as a journey; she hasn’t found the end of her road yet! |
