Author bio:
Hi there. I'm a guy who enjoys creating new things, ranging from short stories to poetry [children's too] and thus writing is an enjoyable pastime for me, beit psycho fiction, sci-fi, supernatural or fantasy. Art is my second love, and when the mood strikes me, I'll do a landscape painting on box canvas, using acrylic paints. Very relaxing! I usually give them away to friends and family. As for my writings, I've had some works published in paperback and hardback down the years; short story and an assortment of poems. I've dabbled with screenwriting in the past, which is quite an enjoyable, yet complex style. My taste in music is varied too, if the sound is catchy, then I like it. Here I'll mention I do love Lady GaGa's music, I could listen to her songs 24/7 without getting bored - I love 'em! Righto, there you have it, a little bit of me and my favourite things. I'd like to thank those who have read this short bio, and also those who have left comments about my ebooks - much appreciated! For those authors who need a Cover Page, visit my website and view my ready-made eBook Cover Pages that you can purchase for £2.50p - inclusive of your Title and preferred Author Name.

Why? Why not? Its fun! Today there are many freedoms to express one's creativity and share it with the world! Who will you inspire? Got for it! Purchase an ebook for your family. Anyone who buys an ebook has permission to make their own video of the books. Join in the endeavor to read to children all over the world through the internet. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dawn Maria Brady has been a military spouse for nearly 30 years. For many of those years she worked in daycare centers. She also ran a home daycare for seven years. In addition to supplying meals for the children, she made breakfast for parents before they headed off to work. She wrote and illustrated many stories for her own children as well as her daycare "babies." Story time was one of the favorites besides water play. The family has had many places to call home although Dawn Maria and the children have never left the states. Her husband was the one who traveled all over the world. As a military spouse and family, you have to be adventurous, independent, since your husband is gone for a year at a time, dedicated and most of all, able to go with the flow and accept changes as they happen. Living a military life has hardships and is emotional. When the soldiers leave for a tour in a war zone, we often wonder in silence as we watch the ceremony and say our good-byes; who isn't coming home. This is not a job. Its a way of life that tests a person in ways never imagined. It makes you stronger, deeper and rearranges priorities. Dawn Maria told her husband, "I can hold on as long as you can! We are in this together!" THE FUTURE: Dawn Maria is working on new children's books, "Leaping Frog Brags" which is a rewrite from an original 22 years ago, "Read and Do", and "Word Play." Also look for Story Rock, a young adult novel to be released in 2012. Thank you for visiting and see the facebook page link below for more updates.

Sarah Pig by George Morrow Sarah Pig by George Morrow Nov. 10, 2010 Free! 1955 words Read a sample
Author bio:
"George with his friends Snip and pup Sierra." George was raised climbing the mountains and fishing the lakes and streams of the Sierra Nevada mountains. At a young age he started to appreciate the value of the unspoiled beauty of the wilderness. To this day he continues to appreciate the beauty of the earth and the life that is upon it. Many of the stories he has written are first hand experiences, such as the lady bugs hatching on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe - as is talked about in The Little Helper. After a tour in Vietnam, George married his wife, Jean, who has been a great benefit to George in his writings and life. George and Jean toured the U.S. and Canada for several months in their VW van seeking a place to raise a family. But nothing was as appealing as their own back yard of Nevada with its desert valleys and high mountains. Now married 39 years, the Morrows reside on a small farm in Fallon, Nevada where they have raised four sons: Jeremy, Jake, Josh and Jesse. George says with a smile, "It's hard not to be happy when you have everything." George is much like anyone else; he's a dreamer about a lot of things, but he is also a doer. When he sets his mind to it, few things stand in the way to get the results he desires. Many of George's dreams have already come true. For instance, when he recently cut a CD at Opal Studios in Portland, Oregon with songs he has written, with his sons accompanying him on instruments, George's heart swelled with joy. By completing this project, he brought closure to a statement he had been wanting to make, mostly to himself. "I've been waiting since I was 12 years old to record in a sound studio, but you know," George says with a smirk, "I'm just going to have to come to grips with the fact that I probably won't ever be a great songwriter like Bob Dylan or a guitarist like Eric Clapton." He laughs like a little boy, "But a storyteller? That's something I can do." Indeed, George is a wonderful storyteller! Whether he's conveying his very first composition about Emily the Goose, or telling about one of his real-life adventures exploring Tahoe, George entertains, evokes emotion, and even teaches. George's motivation is to produce children's literature that elevates values. He also desires to highlight awareness of children's development, as well as their wit and humor. George has a great respect for a child's perspective on nature; the pure relationship of the two is an ongoing theme in his writing.

Tobias Dingbat gave up a serious career in circus clowning to freelance as a political speech-writer. It happened that Australian politics entered a golden age of self-serving clowns for whom he wrote meaningless speeches. He is now retired, having divorced a show pony, an elephant and an alcoholic monkey. This first illustrated book is Part 1 of a series to come, which will develop more characters most of them being fully human (for now). I hope to explore the interactions between "bio-born" and "techno-born" creatures, maybe raising interesting issues to confront us over the next 50 years. As I am no scientist, I will imagine with a sense of humour to shrug off criticism. It's a hobby, with a simple wish to entertain people. I live in Texas and am now practicing for retirement, having worked in landscape management for about 30 years. I make the 2nd best lasagna in all the world, have some following for my "Grandma David's sugar cookies", and am returning to making really good kaleidoscopes. I would rather watch a thunderstorm than television; my favorite entertainment is live theatre or symphony. I have three children living in Texas, one son in Heaven, and three terrific grandchildren: one granddaughter and one grandson, both 14 years old, and a one year old grandson. My Dad is now 93 and still preaches whenever he can (in addition to raising vegetable and vegetable plants to sell). His dad was a preacher, also. I remember spending a lot of time with Granddad. When I was a kid, Granddad lived with us. Not in our house, but in a separate house on our property. what I most remember about Granddad is his ability to sit in his chair and quote - not read - chapter after chapter of the Bible to me. And interestingly enough, most of what he quoted was passages of prophetic scripture. I suppose that is why I have so often found myself turning to the study of prophecy. Over a period of 30 years, I taught 7 Single Adult Bible study classes in 5 different churches, and 3 married couples classes. I also taught high school age kids and children's classes, coached the kid's softball team, drove buses, took the boy's group to summer camp a couple of years, served on numerous committees, and, oh yeah, served as Church Training Director. Some of my writing appears here in Amazon.com, and more is found in my internet site, Quiet Heart Press, at www.wetouch.net. Quiet Heart has a free online reading room, where you can find some of my books, articles, poetry and prose, and a full-length musical. Quiet Heart Press is neither a business nor a hobby for me; it is a part of my heart I open up to you. This is a place to find some peace and rest in your busy day. Quiet Heart dares to search dark corners of broken hearts ... to touch weary souls ... to speak of hope, and trust, and faith. You are welcome there. PLEASE NOTE: Just like almost everyone, I have a name, and other people have the same, or very similar, name. I am me. I AM NOT the David Duke from Louisiana that was a part of the KKK. I have never been in or aspired to political office. I have never been in prison. I am not a doctor. I have never been on television. ALL the books I have written are presented or published by Quiet Heart Press, and I always use my middle initial in all my work: David A. Duke. Anything else you find or read that does not match all these facts is not by me.

45 years. It's been a long journey. I've been a primary school teacher for almost half of them, moving from mainstream to exceptional needs to additional support needs. I'm most happy with and most proud of my own family. Second to them comes my involvement in writing and peripheral projects. I co-edited the Rue Bella magazine for 5 years or so and am mighty proud of that too. Recently I've been more involved with writing my own pieces. I've been lucky enough to find spaces for some of my work and I'm hoping that one day I'll write a novel that's worthy of publication. I've given up gambling, alcohol, smoking and any kind of unnatural highs over the past few years and am looking for a new compulsion - maybe I've found it in Twitter. Yep, 45 years. I am a 38 year old little boy from Birmingham, UK, now living in Stratford-on-Avon, the birthplace of another half-decent bard as it happens. After a stint in Rehab for alcohol & prescription drug addiction in 2002, I began writing as a form of therapy. It appears to have worked as I have remained extremely sober & deliriously happy ever since. For my writing, I tend to draw on my childhood experiences & thoughts from the time, those distant magical memories of something that you'll never forget. This has led to my work forming out of a simple, childlike premise, but building into a story suitable for all ages, from 7 to 107+. In all honesty, when I begin writing, I never quite know where it's going to take me, but I have come to the conclusion that that's a good thing. Nowadays, I write purely for personal enjoyment & fulfillment but after the feedback I have received, I thought it terribly selfish to deny the masses of my work & Kindle/Amazon/Smashwords et al have provided the perfect platform to reach you all. I am currently beginning work on a follow-up title & will continue to create a series of 'Madison' books for both children & adults to enjoy. That is my dream anyway & I'v found dreams can take you a long way if you follow them.

Steve Simons is primarily a writer of Science Fiction, aimed at a FAMILY audience, although he has turned his hand (or should that be wordprocessor) to other forms of story. Steve started using his creative imagination as a child, entertaining groups of children in the neighbourhood. Many was the time that the children would get into trouble for getting back home later than heir normal "get in by" time, as they got engrossed in one of Steve's stories. Breifly, Steve put his pen to work, writing short stories for the entertainment of family and freinds, but nothing serious came of that. Then in later life, Steve took up the pen again and started writing scripts and short stories for a children's podshow called KidsCastUK. This grew into two shows, one specialising in Science Fiction and Steve took key writer role on that show. Encouraged to do even more, Steve wrote his first book "The Sphere of Time", this grew to become a 3 book series TSOT 1 -3.

Most are short and easy to read, are sometimes funny and often feature unexpected endings. Some of my books are related to each other, sharing characters, locales and plots. Snapdragon Alley, Freak City and Dragon Town comprise "The Dragon City Trilogy" The "All Geeked Up" collection includes World Weary Avengers, Ledman Pickup, and In Constant Contact "The Secret Trilogy" is 'Chaos Fiction' and includes Squatter with a Lexus, Secret Sidewalk, and Hidden Highway "Rays and Nights" is a collection of cross-genre stories that share certain characters, and includes the faux-horror Zombie Nights, the sci-fi Death Ray Butterfly and the coming-of age stories of Raisinheart Fissure Monroe features the intrepid private eye, Dawn Debris. Missy Tonight follows Orange Car with Stripes in these stories of Atheist Comic Sci-Fi Pulp Fiction. Golden is a screenplay based on Time Zone. Jimmyland is a screenplay based on Phantom of the Mall. Inspector Mole pops up all over the place. If you like one, chances are you'll like another, and if you don't, well, thanks for giving it a try!

Yep, that’s me sitting on a rock in Griffith Park over there on the left. Pretty young to write a book, you say? Actually, the photo was taken a very long time ago, but that little girl with the over-sized boots and sunny smile will always be that age (no matter how many chronological years I accumulate). You see, once upon a time I was a “Little Orange” in the “Big Apple”------a little girl from sleepy Sherman Oaks, California who suddenly found herself (along with her brother, mother and father) living in the city that NEVER sleeps, New York City! That little girl pretty much ran wild and free through the streets of that great metropolis and had adventures that seem almost unbelievable in retrospect. Before the images fade of those times so long ago, as if in a dream that we try to hold onto upon awakening, I want to share her story with all of you. ---------------------------------- I have long been a reader with a particular fondness for coming-of age books (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Catcher in the Rye being my personal favorites). I received a 3rd place writing award for an essay on fire prevention in 11th grade that consisted of a fireman holding a hose mounted on top of a block of wood with my name on it. It is still cherished as if it was an Oscar or Olympic medal because it was the first validation of my writing. Also, in no particular order, some of my favorite things are: a plastic container full of chewy Red Vines; a seagull named Ahab with only one webbed-foot that I visit and feed daily; toasted cinnamon muffins with nooks and crannies filled with butter; a tabby cat named MoMo who is missing most of his teeth; the classics of literature, music, and movies-----a shout out to Steinbeck, Vivaldi, and Ted Turner, respectively; and walking cemeteries in every season, honoring those now gone with brief vignettes of their lives and times.

Attack of the Sugar Plum Fairies, A Story for Demented Children by John H. Carroll Attack of the Sugar Plum Fairies, A Story for Demented Children by John H. Carroll Oct. 21, 2011 Free! 6703 words Read a sample
Author bio:
John H. Carroll was the youngest of seven children and was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1970 where he was kept in a dresser drawer with the clean socks. Luckily he wasn’t kept with the dirty socks or else he might have grown up to become slightly warped. As a child, John spent most of his time wandering through the Mojave Desert in an attempt to avoid people. He would stare at the sky, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. One of his favorite memories is watching his dad build the fuselage of Evel Kneivel’s skycycle in their garage. One of his least favorite moments was watching that skycycle fall into the Snake River. (Not his dad’s fault and he has documentation to prove it, so nyah) As a teenager, John spent most of his time driving wherever he could in an attempt to avoid people. He would stare at the road, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. He was the captain of the chess team and lettered in golf and band while in high school and wasn’t beaten up anywhere near as much as one might imagine. As an adult, John spent most of his time staring at a computer screen in an attempt to avoid people. He stares at the monitor for hours, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. He has been married to his wonderful wife for 14 years and they have three obnoxio . . . wonderful children who always behave . . . when they’re asleep. John is surrounded at most times by emo bunny minions. He is their imaginary friend and they look to him for guidance. At one point they took over the world. No one noticed because they left everything exactly as it was. They gave the world back after a week because it was depressing. The Willden Trilogy is his first series of books. All of his short stories are free and he is working on various novellas as well as a new series coming out in late 2011. He writes in the evenings and weekends whenever possible. Regrettably, the family mentioned in the previous paragraph desires food and shelter, requiring the author to possess a full time job until such time as his writing makes him rich.
