Hi and Welcome! So you want to know about me... well I'm married SAHM (Stay At Home Mom) with two kids. I'm also an ex-erotic author. I was multi-published with several publishers, until I became disillusioned with the industry and I'm a little cynical about it at times. Yet I still have a passion for the written word, especially sexy ones, I created my blog to share that passion. And since I can't get rid of those pesky plot bunnies I dabble with short stories now and then.

An accidental publisher! Working as a musician and magician, as well as running my own companies providing entertainment for weddings parties and corporate events, I wrote a 'get comfy slow' book (as opposed to 'get rich quick'!) on my own triumphs and failures, File under business or humour. But the experience of hiring someone else to convert the printed book into an electronic one was not an outstanding success, and I ended up having to do a lot of the work myself. I suppose, being a slightly geeky pedantic nit-picker, I was never going to be totally happy not doing it all myself anyway. Fellow authors started asking me to convert their books as well, and I remembered some excellent titles that were out of print so converted those as well. It seemed a shame not to use all that new-found knowledge.

I spew unfathomable, creative prose specifically tailored for the youthfully inclined and imaginatively arrested. That is to say, I write Urban Fantasy and YA Fiction novels. When I say "YA Fiction," I don't mean "Young Women's Fiction," I mean actual young adult stories that anyone of any age can read and thoroughly enjoy. I'm a procrastinator by nature, so when I took on the responsibility of being a Stay-At-Home-Dad (SAHD), I was forced to "grow up" and learn to keep things organized. I have no doubt that this one quality aided me immensely on my authoring journey, and will continue to do so. In my spare time (when I'm not writing) I enjoy scrubbing toilets, washing dishes, and changing diapers (it's funny what types of activities give you enjoyment once you become a SAHD). I also enjoy all major sports, I'm a huge movie buff, and I like messing around with Photoshop---sure helps with designing book covers. I've got 3 boys, 1 girl, 1 dog, and 1 cat. And 1 wife. Yeah... my life is busy.

Author bio:
Francis W. Porretto was born in 1952. Things went steadily downhill from there. Fran is an engineer and fictioneer who lives on the east end of Long Island, New York. He's short, bald, homely, has bad acne and crooked teeth. His neighbors hold him personally responsible for the decline in local property values. His life is graced by one wife, two stepdaughters, three dogs, five cats, too many power tools to list, and an old ranch house furnished in Early Mesozoic style. His 12,000 volume (and growing) personal library is considered a major threat to the stability of the North American tectonic plate. Publishing industry professionals describe Fran's novels as "Unpublishable. Horrible, but unpublishable all the same." (They don't think much of his short stories, either.) He's thought of trying bribery, but isn't sure he can afford the $3.95. Time was, all Fran's fictions WERE free to whoever might care to read them. Back then, he wanted readers more than revenue. However, that has changed, along with certain other of his circumstances, so he now asks what he hopes you'll consider a modest price for his novels and stories. (The novelette "Farm Girl" is still free. A loss leader, if you will.) So You Don't Have Time by Byron Gordon So You Don't Have Time by Byron Gordon Nov. 29, 2011 Free! 2877 words Read a sample
Author bio:
Byron Gordon grew up in the rural Eastern Shore of Maryland, USA. One of six children, he soon discovered his love of reading, ranging from the clever humor of P.G. Wodehouse to the epic fantasy of Tolkien to the fast paced science fiction of Timothy Zahn. Fed on this widely varied diet, his imagination blossomed and he began to write, desiring to create worlds and adventures of his own. After realizing the bleak financial prospects of an aspiring writer trying to break into the fiction realm, Byron enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He spent an extra week in Coast Guard Boot Camp (Cape May, NJ) for writing during the breaks between classes. After Boot Camp he traveled to California for training in radio communications. Following the completion of his training, he spent three years on a Coast Guard Cutter, interdicting and repatriating illegal migrants. He currently is still on active duty and plans search and rescue efforts on the east coast of the USA. Despite the intense, and often hectic, schedule that military life entails, Byron has continued to write in his free time. While writing a complete novel still proves elusive, he has composed multiple short stories and a small amount of poetry. In the spring of 2011, he started publishing his writings electronically and now has a fair number of short stories and poetry available online in a variety of formats.

Author bio:
I admit it. I’m addicted to writing. It’s a compulsion I’ve had ever since I first held a pencil and could make words appear on pieces of butcher paper from the roll my parents wrapped bread and other goodies in at our family bakery in San Jose, CA. It continued through third grade, when I won a prize from the school bank for a little masterpiece called “It’s Fun to Save.” It drove away the lonesomes of not being able to play with other kids because polio left me less than agile, and it led to several notebooks containing imaginary escapades of my mom, my dog, my wheelchair, and me. As a senior in high school I won the Creative Writing award for the year—but earned only a B in the class because I wanted to write what I wanted to write, not what was necessarily assigned. When I began college I decided writing was not going to feed me, and I loved the thought of teaching others how to communicate in writing. Teaching was a natural fit. For many years I taught high school English, that universally hated subject. Those years gave me happy fulfillment and lifelong friends in the form of colleagues and ex-students. I count among my blessings “kids” who are now in education, politics, on both sides of the law (one in prison, one a District Attorney), corporate executives, trades people, the famous and the slightly infamous. Keeping in touch with these people, along with experiences I had growing up as a person with a disability, gave me food for thought. . . and for writing. Much of what I write, then, deals with how people treat each other. In 2005 my son, Brian, vacated the nest to begin his own life. Deeply saddened by this, his father and I set out the following day to turn his bedroom into a guest room and buy new living room furniture. When Brian asked why we didn’t do all this stuff while he was still home, I could only tell him my hopes that he’d drop by often to see whatever else we were up to. When he’s a parent of a teenager, he’ll understand. Meanwhile, my husband, Frank, and I are content to make a life of our own while enjoying the man our son has grown up to be. Life is good. Life brings surprises. Life exists to be written about and shared.
