"4?" | by MichelleK. June 20, 2011 | $4.99 | 59807 words | Sample 15% |
| Author bio: Being open minded is what I like about myself the most. I grew up in the South where I spent my hours pondering the ironies of life. There's not much else to do except sit on the porch swing swatting mosquitoes and catching fireflies on sweltering hot summer nights. I've enjoyed creative writing ever since I was a child and I write simply for enjoyment. Feel free to inquiry: mdkcreatives@hotmail.com |

"Seriously?" | by Gary Weston Dec. 17, 2011 | $2.99 | 26583 words | Sample 85% |
| Author bio: Hi. I have had so many admirers after people have seen my picture. (Thank you Darren, but i am basically male and besides, you are a married man. Behave.) Is that really you they ask? I'll level with you. That is a picture of my younger sister!!! I know. Good looks run in the family, usually in the opposite direction. I was 243 on my last birthday, and the last batch of embalming fluid didn't quite hit the spot. If you saw the real me, you too would run a mile. Anyway, I have a twitter account now, which means (I think) people can leave me messages. Happy to get comments about my books. hhtp//unclegarf.wordpress.com. So. I have the third in the series bubbling away, and the lovely Fred Ducket will have some fun. You know me by now. I don't write words. I just write stories. Get stuck in. For anybody who gives a damn, in my face book thing, the black dog is Minnie. The rural scenes are outside my front door. I live in a small town, population 1407 and me, about two hours drive north from Wellington, capital of New Zealand. The Tararua Ranges are close by and they go on for miles, dividing east from west. The Tasman Sea is about twenty minutes away by car going west. Most of my stories are set in NZ, and I think that gives them a different flavour. For anyone reading One Man's Dream, the Turakina Valley is as described in the book, including the 17 acres. I'm from the Midlands in England, originally. I hope you are liking my stuff. I am always happy to get constructive criticism, just be gentle with me. see you on Facebook. Thanks for your support, Gary AKA Shannon Levin. |

'Twas the Night Before Solstice (Southern Oregon Style) | by Celeste Drolle Dec. 09, 2011 | Free! | 890 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Celeste Drolle sets aside precious little time for writing, and her critics complain that it shows. Celeste shrugs this off, aims her TV remote, and tunes in another telenovela. * * * Time for writing or not, she rarely lacks for stories -- a trait, she points out, that she shares with other habitual liars. "Can you imagine if Dick Nixon had written fiction?" smiles Celeste: "I promise to tell the Half Truth, the Twisted Truth, and nothing resembling the Truth." * * * Pressed about the unlikely likeness of her publicity photo, she mumbles something inaudible about the British Museum, face lifts, and "what's a girl to do?" * * * In pursuit of her promise to write longer fiction one day, must her ravenous appetite for C movies, hush puppies and libidinous living be curtailed? "I have often worried that advancing age might trim my sails," muses Ms. Drolle. "Lordy, how mistaken can a body can be?" |

4 Inches and Counting - a Tale of Shrinking Manhood | by J.M. DeBord June 19, 2010 | You set the price! | 4240 words | Sample 50% |
| Author bio: SCROLL DOWN TO GO RIGHT TO MY BOOKS I have been writing fiction for 25 years, though not until the completion of my novel "Something Coming: a New Age Thriller" did I really consider myself a professional. What's the difference? Around two dozen rewrites, critiques from a handful of proofreaders, and a writer's pride after ten years of work to present my best product. Readers and I have a contract that's violated by anything less than professional-quality writing. They're willing to give my work a chance until it starts to read like something from a community college fiction writing class. Well, I went to a state school, took a lot of writing classes and still worked for another ten years before it all sunk in. "Something Coming" is my dissertation, proof that I've graduated, and like a dissertation it is thoroughly researched and edited. Please read for yourself. I truly appreciate my readers, and hope they gain new understanding about themselves and their world through my novels. Their support funds more time for writing, and adds extra motivation to write some really mind-blowing stuff for my fans. If you'd like to know more about me, please visit my blog. READ RAVE REVIEWS FOR "SOMETHING COMING" AT AMAZON. SOME EXCERPTS: --- "A real pager-turner!" --- "I loved this book." --- "The characters are richly drawn and have your heart aching through their epic struggles and triumphs." --- "A must-read for readers who love to explore philosophies and ideologies through totally absorbing fiction." --- "Captures the current global zeitgeist." |

5 Stages of Grief | by Bethany Ramos Sep. 11, 2011 | $2.99 | 89224 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Chick Lit author Bethany Ramos is a full-time freelance writer through Elance.com, but her real passion can be found in writing chick lit, women's fiction, and even a children's book called Lions Can't Eat Spaghetti. Bethany works at home full-time writing her fingers to the bone, and she also co-owns her own coffee website, The Coffee Bump, with her husband Mark. Ramos’ Chick Lit fiction is inspired primarily by her sarcastic personality and love of a good laugh. And it doesn't hurt to throw in a few quirky idiosyncrasies that make her characters totally unique—something she is quite familiar with. When she’s not spinning a new tale of Chick Lit drama at her computer, Ramos loves spending time with her husband and two yappy Chihuahuas, reading (surprise, surprise!), exercising, and watching trashy reality television. |

6-Pack of Humorous Flash Fiction | by Gil C. Schmidt Jan. 31, 2012 | $0.99 | 4850 words | Sample 5% |
| Author bio: My first written story involved a boy, spear-chucking natives and ended in a dream. It won 1st Prize in the Short Story Contest held for 7th graders. Imagine how bad the others were. Being an avid reader of comic books, SF, mystery and sports stories and thinking that I knew I could do something similar, I took that first story as a push to keep writing. Almost everything I wrote after that I trashed, except for one story my Dad said: "It's good, but you wrote it for yourself, not the reader." From that point on, I knew I could write stories and I learned to write them for more than an audience of one. I've written plenty of stories, some of which were published. I've written seven books, one of which was published with me receiving no credit, as ghost writers know. I've been blogging as Gil The Jenius for several years, but not about writing. I've spent something like 40% of my professional career writing plans, ads, reports, proposals, articles, interviews and scads of other "serious" stuff. And what fiction I did write I kept tucked away, growing older as I focused on other types of writing. Now's the time for it to see the light. Somerset Maugham once said that "If you're waiting to write, you're a waiter, not a writer." Although I still take tips (preferably cash), I'm a writer...fiction now included. |

| Author bio: Hi, I’m Nick Taylor, I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, possibly the greatest place on earth. I went to Dakota Ridge High and was in band— that’s right I was a band nerd and no, I don’t have any cool “one time at band camp†stories, so don’t ask. I started writing in October of 2007. I was driving around with a friend and said “hey, I wonder if I can write a book.†So I thought I’d try and write outline and see what happens. Well, I finished the outline and I couldn’t just stop there. I needed to write chapter one and then that would be it. Do you see where this is going? Anyway, after chapter one was done, I had to finish the first book. But I wanted to get input as I went in order to write a better story. I decided to do a podcast of the first three chapters to see what people thought. After the first podcast, I decided that I wanted to continue to do it and more over, I wanted to get a larger listener base. It's all been a wonderful journey from there. |

A Click Away from Chaos | by Leslie Cameron July 29, 2010 | $4.95 | 68755 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: I live near Mouse Valley in southern Scotland with two rescued dogs and a bag of golf clubs. I have written all my life – and I freely admit that essay-writing was only subject that earned good marks at school. Before turning to fiction, I was a technical author – and produced many volumes of user material for some of Britain’s larger and more influential companies. I have two daughters and enjoy the company of my five grandchildren, aged ten to twenty. I am a sports fanatic; follow cricket and football – and play mid-handicap golf as often as the weather will allow. On wet days (and there are plenty!, I write to earn the fare for my next foreign adventure. Most likely, back to Thailand to see my many friends. 'Daughter of the Snake' and 'Thailand Honey' are based some of my experiences in Bangkok. 'A Click Away from Chaos' comes from an earlier life. I keep in touch with my many friends around the world by e-mail. 'Midnight Picasso' is set on Gran Canaria and explores the beauties (and the beaches) on that island. |

A Coffee With MM | by Marisa Meissa Oct. 11, 2011 | $0.99 | 9146 words | Sample 5% |
| Author bio: In recent years, Marisa Meissa found she had a passion for writing short stories filled with humor - a passion she did not realize she possessed. Being one of eleven children, she has led an interesting life with many setbacks. Even so, she knows she has also led a life filled with many blessings given to her from the ONE ABOVE. As someone who has led an interesting life, it has enabled Marisa to use bits and pieces of true life events -- either from her own life or others -- then wrap these bits and pieces of truth into a fictional humorous story in hopes it will create a laugh, chuckle, and/or smile. You feel good when you are laughing hard at something done, said, and/or written. Marisa states as you get older, you realize those moments when you laughed hard and strong (in the past) were the best moments of your life. Since she could only expand her memoirs so far in this small documentary of her life here (Ha!), she has chosen her 2nd grade school picture to sum up in one picture how her life has been her entire life. |
